Your instructions say to log in in order to edit a previously posted piece. I can’t find anywhere in your welcome page or otherwise where I can log in.

I’m sorry to have so many issues with this site. It must be some combination of my browser and your incompetence?

Posted by paul schoaff on 18 July 2009 @ 7am

Paul,
Lulu Poetry’s login page is currently found here: http://www.poetry.com/premium/login.asp We do plan to add a login to the home page, in order to make it more convenient and easily found. Unfortunately, the ability to edit poems is currently suspended while we work on that feature. You should find it much improved when you are able to edit poems again later in the month.

Thank you,
Annie

Hi! I’ve tried to edit my 2 poems, but when I go to the page and write the zip code and the email, the following message appears in both poems:

“Your poem is currently being considered for inclusion in our hardbound anthology series and is therefore unavailable for editing at this time (…)”

Someone know what does that message mean and why?

Thanks alot!

Posted by Isaiah on 18 July 2009 @ 11pm

There is no login on that page, just a place to put your name for a commercial feature.

Still unable to see anything about how the poems are being received. Still part of some Anthology scheme.

Can’t figure out how to see ratings on my poetry without voting for myself. Is it possible to view ratings otherwise?

Posted by KAHH on 20 July 2009 @ 1pm

Hi KAHH,
Right now, the only way to check your poem’s rating is by rating it yourself. That is definitely something that we are working to fix, and there should be a better system in place soon.
Thank you,
Annie

There is no place to log in, there is no place to edit, there is no way to rate my own poetry, let alone seeing what other folks think. Your site is all screwed up but you just keep spewing the same nonsense. Please remove all the Schoaff poetry until I can see you have your issues under control.

Hi Isaiah,
I’m sorry that you ran into trouble. That message was oddly lingering from when the previous owners made anthologies. Lulu Poetry does not have an anthology program, and that error message should be removed now.

Please remember that editing and deleting poems is temporarily on hold while we work on those features. Very soon, we will open editing back up again and you will have a much easier time updating your poems.
Thank you,
Annie

Hi Paul,
I am sorry that you have had a frustrating experience. We are working to fix all the issues that you have mentioned and hope to update the site soon. In the mean time, I have asked the support team to remove your poems.
Thank you,
Annie

Hello Lulu,

I would like to know how I would be able to rate my own poem or in particular, view how my poem is doing in terms of ratings? Is there anyway that I can do this?
And if not, then do you have an exact date or how soon will this feature be available? Thank you.

Posted by Denmark on 23 July 2009 @ 1am

Is it ever possible to view the current rating of ones own poem?

Posted by sandra on 23 July 2009 @ 2pm

The poet Sami George Banarji was my professor between 1976/1977 when I was studying at Basrah University, Iraq.
Could you please help me to have his email. My email is:

Hi Sandra and Denmark,
Currently the only way to view your poem’s rating is by rating it again. Click the “submit your vote” button to go to the rating page, select the rating for your poem, and click the “submit your vote” button once again. After that, the page will reload to show your poem’s average rating.

We understand that this is not the best system, and we are working on it. Later in the summer, you will be able to see your poem’s rating just by going to that poem’s page.
Thank you,
Annie

Hi Ramzi,
I’m glad that you were able to find your professor’s poetry! Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with his email address as that would be a violation of Lulu Poetry’s privacy policy. You can view our complete privacy policy here: http://www.poetry.com/privacy.asp

Thank you,
Annie

Annie:

I’m concerned that since I cannot rate my poem nobody else can either. I also cannot see the ratings, as I’ve stated before. The help group has not gotten back to me. How do I find out how my poems are doing? And is there anyway to know for sure that other people can see and rate them?

Thanks.

Bill

Okay so I went to the poet reference and typed in my name, then I clicked on one of my poems I had submitted and it took me to a page where underneath the poem it said”submit your vote” then it brought me to a page where somebody else’s poem was showing? So like, when I click submit your vote that allows me to rate Someone else’s poem but not mine? Then I clicked submit your vote again and then it just showed THEIR daily averages but my poem is never shown. Clarification please?

Posted by Denmark on 25 July 2009 @ 8pm

There is no clarification possible, Denmark, because their site is screwed up and out of control. They can’t let you access your stuff, they can’t even remove it themselves.

Someone told them it would take 3 months and $400000 to fix the problems and they are just realizing why the former poetry.com could only make money as a scam.

Hi Bill and Denmark,
It looks like you have encountered a bug on our site and your poems are not available for rating at this time. We are working to fix it, and the issue should be resolved when our site improvements go live soon. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. Your poems will, of course, still be eligible for the contest when the issue is resolved.

Thank you,
Annie

Paul,
I don’t know where you heard those numbers. They are not accurate. It is true that the site was not very well maintained by the previous owners and we have a whole lot of work to do on it. However, all that work is underway and I am confident that all the issues you are experiencing will be resolved soon. I appreciate your understanding and patience while we undertake the monumental task of upgrading Lulu Poetry and turning it into a wonderful community for poets.
Thank you,
Annie

I encountered the same situation as Bill and Denmark with both of my recently posted poems. Since everything I write gets a 9 or above rating it disappoints me to know that some of my personal favorites weren’t able to be reviewed and therefore excluded from contests. If you could remove all of my works until the site is completely fixed, I would appreciate that.

in Chicago, with a new single due out in the next 6 mon-
ths,and a lot of my music fans have been anxiously wait-
ing to see my poetry again, both the new stuff and some
of the older stuff. You’re welcome to give out my E-mail

good work!!!I’ll be submitting a new poem for August
tomorrow.Sincerely,Ted Cioban 7-31-09

Hi Ted,
I’m glad that you are enjoying Lulu Poetry. You should see improvement in the ratings and better poet profiles by mid-August, when we release some new features. Good luck with your single!

Thank you,
Annie
