Well, I see that you’ve filled the yearly leader board list. And I must say it looks like the who’s who list from Cheatersville. This should be the list of people being disqualified for cheating in my opinion. Someone wrote a comment that acquiring that many votes (as indicated by most on that list) would not be impossible for a spammer, but I don’t see anywhere in the rules that allow any other means of collecting votes other than having other visitors to this site vote on them. So therefore I would consider spammers or any other means of receiving votes other than the people visiting this site as cheating. I am anxiously awaiting to see if one of these obvious cheaters actually does win this contest. Does anyone else feel offended are slighted by this?

Just wondering… does anyone know if there’s a way to read the most recently posted poems? Thanks!

is their something i’m miss about registering my poems. it doesn’t seem like anyone even looks at them. what do i have to do?

that would be a useful feature. a means to browse the newest ones would give users a more direct way to vote on all poems submitted, not just those searched.

how long does it take for the recent poems to be entered in the contest and do you read all of them or a select few

Hi Jacob,
We do not currently have a place on the site to read the most recently submitted poems. That is something we are planning, and hope to have soon though.

Hi Johnnymac007,
Your poem is entered into the contest as soon as you submit it to the site. Lulu Poetry’s judges review the poems with the highest ratings by the community.

Thank you,
Annie

how do i get my poem rated

Posted by jacquan on 26 January 2010 @ 7pm

Hi,
I love coming to this site and reading new poetry. I must admit that most of them are fair at best, however there are some that are good, There are even others that are exceptional.
I’ve been reading the poems on the yearly list, and I notice that the list only contains the ones with the most votes. I know of other poems with less votes that have higher ratings than most of these poems. There are some really good poems(a lot better than these) with less votes and higher ratings. Why aren’t those poems listed on the yearly board like they are on the other boards?
Also, I’ve been silent in the past when I’ve noticed odd or suspicious ratings on inferior works. However this list looks like “Who’s Who” in Cheatersville!
I certainly hope you guys are noticing this because if your not then it’s sooooo unfair for the true poets.
I really hope you can work this out because I believe in what your doing here.

Hi, I was just wondering, I’m new at this contest thing and I just want to know how you go about entering one?

Posted by Alaya on 28 January 2010 @ 12pm

Hi Jacquan,
The best way to get ratings for your poems is to share them. You are always welcome to invite your friends and family to visit Lulu Poetry to rate your poems and others.

Hi Cindy,
The Yearly Leaderboard is not quite working properly, and does not update as frequently as the Daily and Monthly leaderboards. This is something that we hope to have fixed soon, so that the leaderboard has a more accurate reflection of where a poem stands in the Yearly contest. We do pay attention to the poem’s ratings, and users who are suspected of cheating or poems that violate the member agreement are excluded from the contest.

Hi Alaya,
You can enter the poetry contest easily by registering for a free account at Lulu Poetry and submitting a poem through the entry form on the home page. We look forward to seeing your work!

Thank you all,
Annie
